Barbara Anne Wooley Scheaffer Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Barbara Anne Wooley Scheaffer, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 in her home, in Slidell, at the age of 80. Barbara was born in 1941, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Howard F. Wooley, Sr. and Odalie Mire Wooley. She graduated from Warren Eastern High School in 1960 and married her beloved husband Donald Louis Scheaffer, Sr. the same year. They moved to Slidell in 1977. Barbara was a retired government worker of USDA and Navy Oceanographic; member of Northshore Church; and a retired Lieutenant volunteer firefighter. Barbara found enjoyment in watching birds and squirrels, growing orchids, and the Hallmark Channel. Above all, her greatest joy came from knowing Jesus, and her family, especially her great-grandchildren. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Donald, Sr.; her son Donald, Jr.; her parents Howard and “Dolly” Wooley, and her brother “Woody”. Barbara is survived by her loving family; daughters Dollie Scheaffer SanFilippo (Scott), Darleen Scheaffer Martin (Timothy Scott), grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Hannah SanFilippo-Rivera (Nick), Luke and Zackary; Hailie SanFilippo Slagle (Alex), Kenny and Ashton; Shelbi Martin Vickers (Joseph), Xavier and Olivia; Collyn SanFilippo Stogner (Corey), Coraline, Oliver, and Anastasia; siblings and spouses; Dollie Wooley Heinz, Daniel Wooley (Karen), Kathleen Wooley Sharp (Dewey), Joseph Wooley (MaryAnn), sisters-in-law; Shirley Scheaffer Smith, Mary Scheaffer Spicuzza, and Anel Scheaffer Wilson (Charlie). A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, February 27, 2022 at the Pearl River Community Center, 39443 LA-41 SPUR, Pearl River, Louisiana, 70452. Fellowship will begin at 2:00 PM with the Memorial lead by Pastor Larry McEwen at 3:00 PM. Please dress comfortably and bring a dish to share.
