Gene Francis Yennie

Gene Francis Yennie, 87, of Abita Springs, La., passed away peacefully on Monday, April 1, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was a United States Navy Veteran and a member of the Catholic faith. Gene retired as a Public Safety Officer at the New Orleans Convention Center after over 25 Years. He enjoyed fishing, watching the New Orleans Saints and the companionship of his 4 cats. Gene loved showering his Grandchildren with Love.

He is preceded in death by his Father, Mother, Marion Yennie, Sister, Beverly Yennie, Brother, Leroy Joseph Yennie, and Great Grandson Tobias Michael.

Gene is survived by his Wife of 44 Years, Margaret Fust Yennie of Abita Springs, La., Sons, Christopher Yennie & wife Alisha of Abita Springs, La., Gary Chambers of Boston, MA., Daughter, Lisa Barnett & husband Jeff of Little Rock, AR., 10 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at 9:30 AM with a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 20419 Hwy. 36, Covington, La. 70433.  Father Alex Guzman will officiate.

Services are entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home of Covington, La.
