Mr. William "Bill" Joseph Werner III, 88, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Mandeville, La. Bill was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Werner. He retired from the Times Picayune Newspaper as a Photo Engraver after over 31 years of employment. He enjoyed his time outdoors hunting, fishing and competitive trap and skeet shooting as a skilled marksman. He was also a self -taught immensely talented wood craftsman, who selflessly shared his passion and skills with others. He was known for his attention to detail and incredible patience. He leaves behind a legacy of craftsmanship and an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. He is survived by his Wife of 68 Years, Joy Vigreux Werner of Mandeville, La., Son, William Werner IV and wife Adele of Carrier, Ms., Daughters, Susan Miller and husband Raymond of Mandeville, La., Sharon Weiser and husband Mark of Metairie, La., Shelley Bayer and husband Gary of Houston, Tx., Stacey Wisniewski and husband Mark of New Orleans, La. PaPa to Stephanie, Sheralyn, Ryan, Remington, Whitley, Amber, Gary, Matthew, Benjamin, Meghan, Madelyne, Will and 15 Great Grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 17, 2023, from 11:00 AM followed by a Memorial Mass at 12:00 PM at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, 312 Lafitte Street, Mandeville, La. 70448. Rev. Cory Ford will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Arrangements are entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home of Covington, La.
