William E. Donaldson Jr.

William E. Donaldson Jr., 91, of Covington, LA., passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026.  He was born on January 26, 1935, in Chamblee, Ga. to William E. Donaldson Sr. and Willie Mae Simpson Donaldson.  Bill graduated from Chamblee High School, Class of 1954, where he lettered in football, baseball, basketball and track.  He continued his education at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College from 1954 to 1955 and played on the school’s baseball team.  Bill then transferred to The University of Georgia, where he lettered in baseball and graduated with a degree in Agricultural Education.  He loved playing tennis, snow skiing, fishing and shrimping.  Bill loved watching his grandchildren run track, play soccer, baseball and win academic competitions.  He spent a lot of time at the Baptist Church of Covington and loved having biblical discussions with those that could keep up.  Bill loved life, his family and the Lord.

He is preceded in death by Parents, William E. Donaldson Sr. & Willie Mae Simpson Donaldson, Granddaughter, Lauren Jean Peachey and Brother, Earl Donaldson.

Bill is survived by his Wife, Marvelle Frances Hester Donaldson of Covington, LA., Son, William E. “Tripp” Donaldson III and wife Linda of Folsom, LA., Daughter, Karla D. McGuire and husband Allan of Mandeville, LA., Grandchildren, William E. “Will” Donaldson IV (Challie) of Denham Springs, LA., Jennifer Russo (Cassidy) of Baton Rouge, LA., Shelly K. Smith (Jared) of Mandeville, LA., Melissa “Missy” D. McGuire of Seattle, WA., Mac R. McGuire (Bridget) of Mandeville, LA., Great Grandchildren, Kyleigh Russo, Jules Donaldson, Leona McGuire, Arthur McGuire, Wendy McGuuire and Louis McGuire.
