Wilda Jane (Bonaventure) Lopez

Wilda Bonaventure Lopez, 71, of Abita Springs, La., passed away peacefully on Friday, September 6, 2024.  She is a native of New Rhodes, La. and spent most of her live living in St. Tammany Parish.  Wilda was a member of St. Jane de Chantel Catholic Church in Abita Springs, La. where she was a member of the Ladies Sodality.  She retired as a Horticulturist after many years of cultivating her plants and nourishing them with water.  Wilda enjoyed tending to her plants, her dog Blue always by her side and visiting with friends and family.  Her biggest joy was making the pilgrimage to Medjugorje with her church sisters.

Wilda is preceded in death by her Mother, Beverly Bruce and Father, Edgar J. Bonaventure Sr., Son, Robert “Bobby” McCallum, Brother, Edgar J. Bonaventure Jr. and Granddaughter, Tiffany Hume.

She is survived by her Sister, Suzanne Bourriague of Covington, La., Sister-In-Laws, Connie Jarreau, Vicky Hollard, Niece, Erica Stelly, Nephews, Blake, Jason, Nicholas, Daughters, Stephanie Gutierrez, Melissa Hall, 5 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, many cousins, dear friend and spiritual advisor Fr. Jeffery Jambon, and former spouse and caregiver, Marcos Lopez.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 10:00 AM with a Memorial Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Jane de Chantel Catholic Church, 72040 Maple Street, Abita Springs, La., 70420.  Father Daniel Dashner will officiate.
