Wanda Matthews (Richardson) Crump

Wanda Matthews Crump Richardson, a beloved wife, devoted mother and steadfast friend, peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the age of 64.

Born on June 20, 1960, Wanda dedicated her life to serving others as a healthcare professional for over four decades. She was a passionate supporter of the New Orleans Saints and a devout woman of God. Known for her quiet strength, Wanda was always a compassionate listener and there to offer support to those who needed it. As long as there was good music, she never missed out on a chance to dance (especially while enjoying good food).

Wanda is survived by her husband, Johnny Richardson; her daughters, Knotashia Matthews and Sierra Crump; her sister, Tina Mitchell; her grandchildren, Dalray Matthews, Avery Matthews, and Addison Matthews; her great-grandchildren, Makhi and Kaizer; and her extended family and countless others who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Arcell Bedford Matthews, and her brothers, Robert Grant and Freddy Bedford.

A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held on Saturday, November 2nd, from 12pm-3pm at The Pheasant in Covington. All are welcome to attend and honor Wanda's memory.

Wanda will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Although we'll miss her presence, we find comfort in knowing that she is now home, as she often reminded us with her favorite saying, "God is in control." Her legacy of love, service, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives.
