Susie Nell Whittington

Susie Nell Whittington, 66, Mother, Friend and ICU Nurse, of Abita Springs, La., passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, surrounded by her family to go home to her Lord and Savior peacefully in her sleep.  She was born on July 25, 1957, to her Parents, Dallas & Wanda Smith Whittington in Crowley, La.  Susie was a member of the Christian faith.  She graduated from the University of Southeast Lafayette with a degree in Nursing as served as a Registered Nurse.  Susie loved her granddaughter, Hadley, friends, music festivals, Mardi gras, dancing, food and she had a love for thriller movies.  Rain or Shine, she never missed a chance to go to a festival or parade.  The Beach was her favorite place to be.  Susie loved taking Hadley to festivals, parades, swimming and anywhere they could have fun together.  They were two peas in a pod from day one!  She was an amazing Nurse and took care of her patients as if they were her own family.  Susie’s best friends might have well been her Sister’s as they sure were a Rowdy Bunch! 

She is preceded in death by her Parents and her Son, Jacob Ryan Rogers.

Susie is survived by her Daughter, Megan Nicole Rogers and husband Jason Stark of Abita Springs, La., Grand Daughter, Hadley Stark of Abita Springs, La. and a numerous extended family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to family or the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Memory of Susie’s name.

Arrangements are entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home of Covington, La.
