Ruth Virginia (Poirier) Long

Ruth Virginia Poirier Long, 86, of Slidell, La., passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, surrounded by her family.  She is a native of Clinton, Mass. and a resident of Slidell, La.  Ruth was a member of the Catholic faith and liked shopping, cooking, buying unnecessary things, watching game shows and her dog Duke.

She was preceded in death by her Sons, Russell Long, Steven Long, Richard Long and Daughter, Theresa Long.

Ruth is survived by her Daughters, Tammy Long Atwood of Slidell, La., Tina Blood of Easton, Mass., Ruthie Costa of Daytona, Fl., Son: Jonathan Long of Slidell, La., Brother, Michael Poirier, 17 Grandchildren, numerous Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Granddaughter and numerous Nieces, Nephews and Friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home of Covington, La.
