Rosanna Misuraca Molinario passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025. Rosanna is the mother of Regina Guerra (Greg) and the grandmother of Morgan and Joel Guerra. She is the sister to Barbara Stein (Roger).
Preceding her in death were her parents Frank and Rita Misuraca and her beloved husband James Molinario Sr. with whom she shared his large loving family.
She was MeeMee, Nana, or Nanan. She was Rosanna Rosanna Danna. She was Aunt R. She was Rose. Her most important title was Mother. Regardless of what you called her, she was love. Rosanna was a resident of St Bernard Parish until Hurricane Katrina when she relocated to Tickfaw. Eventually, she moved to Jefferson parish to live with her daughter. Her final two years were with Audubon Care Homes-Phosphor House, where she was loved and cared for in her battle with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s disease.
Rosanna danced her way through life. She graduated from Chalmette High where she was a Charmer. She attended Southeastern Louisiana University as a member of the Lionette dance team. She was a Desi Romano Dancer and danced weekly on local television. She square danced throughout her adult life, and upon moving to Metairie, she was part of a line dancing group for the Jefferson Parish Senior Center. Rosanna was not one to be behind the scenes. Growing up, she participated in multiple Mardi Gras balls and was a maid for the Krewe of Endymion. She was an active member of the Jubilees before moving to Tickfaw where she was a member of the Sunshine Ladies, and was the president of the Catholic Daughters.
She could do anything that she put her mind to. A draftsman by training, she could visualize and create anything. She could sew wedding dresses, or build a shower start to finish -complete with plumbing. She loved tea parties and her Catholic faith. She loved the busyness of life and the peace of her patio, plants and pets. Rosanna made good friends wherever she went and was in the middle of whatever was going on. I’m sure she will be refinishing the pearly gates and planning her own welcome home party in heaven! She was a lot of fun and will be sorely missed by all.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, 14450 LA-442, Tickfaw, LA. 70466, on Saturday, May 10th at 11 am. Rev. Michael Galea will officiate. A short graveside service will follow at Our Lady of Pompeii Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home of Covington, LA.
