Ronald Gabriel Lovell, Sr.

Ronald Gabriel 'Ronnie' Lovell, Sr. passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in Bedico, LA on Friday, December 27, 2024. A native of New Orleans, LA and longtime resident of Bedico, age 80 years. Loving father of Ronald 'Ronnie' G. Lovell, Jr.(Renee) and Rhonda Dewitt(Robert). Devoted grandfather of Lane Dewitt(Kayleigh), Ty Dewitt(Maya), and Jake Lovell(Paige), and great grandfather of Beaux Dewitt and Lucas Dewitt. Devoted brother to Bobby Lovell(Mary), Erroll Lovell, Patricia 'Patsy' Hartman, Jackie Gilmore, and Dolores Humphries. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Ronnie is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Donna 'Kathy' Priser Lovell; and his siblings, Alvin Lovell, Charles Lovell, Betty Hartman, Albert Lovell, and Joyce Landry.

Ronnie retired from Avondale Shipyards as a pipe fitter after 25 years of service to the shipbuilding industry. A horse lover throughout his adult life, he was an experienced farrier as well. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. Private family interment to be held at a later date. The family would like to extend their appreciation and special thanks to Ben and Dianne 'Dee' McHughes.
