Richard Ventola Obituary

Richard “Ricky” D. Ventola, Sr. 62, was born to Joseph M. Ventola, Sr. and Grace F. Ventola on Monday, October 13, 1958 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ricky was called home to the Lord on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at his home in Madisonville, Louisiana.

After graduating high school in 1977, he worked for Sears as an ASE certified Auto Mechanic and in 1980 he graduated from Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office Police Academy where he served 27.5 years and retired in May of 2007.

Ricky had a big heart and would help anyone who needed it. He loved to make jokes and gestures just to get their reactions. He was a great man, husband, and loving father, you could talk to him about anything that was on your mind. He was an extremely hard worker and provided for his Wife, Son and Family.

Ricky is survived by his Wife of 40 years Debra “Debbie” F. Ventola, his Son Richard “Ricky” D. Ventola, Jr., His Sister Janet (Dennis) A. Arruebarrena, His Brother Joseph “Mike” (Susan) Ventola, Jr., His niece Stacey A. Ventola, Nephew Joseph “Joey” M. Ventola, III, and Great-Nephew Kyle J. Ventola, including many other loving relatives and cousins.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Ventola, Sr. and Grace Fazzio Ventola, and his Grandparents Joseph M. Ventola and Magdalena Ventola, Angelo J. Fazzio and Josephine Ricca Fazzio.

“That man is a success – who has lived well, laughed often and loved much, who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children, who has filled his niche and accomplished his task, who leaves the world better than he found it, who has never lacked appreciation of earth’s beauty or failed to express it, who looked for the best in others and gave the best he had.” He was great man and is loved dearly and is now living forever in heaven looking down on us.
