Renee Katie Mayeaux

 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, Renee Katie Mayeaux. Renee died on September 19, 2026 in Denver, Colorado at the age of 41. Renee was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 21,1984. She is survived by her parents Phillip Mayeaux and Judith Mayeaux. Renee is also survived by her Nanny Peggy Fredericks and her Nanny Kimberly Fredericks. Renee is preceded in death by her son, Nico S. Evans, her Meme “Jud” Fredericks, Renee's grandmother Lorraine DeBrock, and Renee's grandfather Alfred J. Fredericks Jr. Renee grew up in Meraux, Louisiana and attended Our Lady of Prompt Succor School in Chalmette, Louisiana as well as Sharon Thibodeaux Dance Studio until the age of 13.

    After moving to the North shore, Renee attended Saint Scholastica Academy where she played numerous sports and graduated with honors in the class of 2003. Renee also attended Mary Dee Dance Studio in Covington. After graduation, Renee attended Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. Later, she followed her passion and gained a cosmetology certification. Throughout Renee’s life she made numerous friends along the way. Renee was a loyal, compassionate person who loved her pets, music, movies, nature, pop culture, history, and the New Orleans Saints. She was enormously talented and creative, and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Renee often wrote in her journal with one of the last sentences being  “ …I'm still here, still alive, just misled. Alone with my thoughts, I allow myself to feel nature's embrace and beneath the oak and the ash, I found my return to Grace…”  Rest in peace, our baby.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Renee’s Celebration of Life beginning at 12:00 noon on Monday, October 5,  2026 at Serenity Funeral Home, 20419 Hwy. 36, Covington, LA followed by Services at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to your local Humane Society in Renee’s memory.
