Rebecca Elainor Sanchez Glover passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 in Covington, LA, surrounded by her devoted family. She was born on March 30, 1940 in Baton Rouge, LA, to George T. Sanchez and Mary E. Arbour Sanchez of Baton Rouge, and was a longtime resident of St. Tammany Parish. She graduated from St. Anthony Catholic School class of 1958 and always kept in close contact with her former classmates. Becky loved gardening and had a beautiful garden of Daylilies. She has been an active member of St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church in Abita Springs. Her greatest passion was her family, from her husband to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, as well as to her extended family. She was the last Matriarch of the Sanchez family. Affectionately known as "Aunt Becky", she always took a personal interest in all of her family and extended family, which included multiple nieces and nephews, as well as their children and their grandchildren. Becky had a giving heart; Her door was always open, and a place at her table was always available. She was an extremely creative person who took pleasure in teaching her grandchildren how to craft, from Fairy Gardens and houses to making Christmas ornaments, which became an annual tradition to give to all family members at Thanksgiving for their Christmas trees.
Becky is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Billy D. Glover; her daughters, Cherie Jordan Hall and her husband, C.J., Lynn Cresse and her husband, Eric, Laura Rogers and her husband, Billy, and Pamela Fuller, as well as her honorary son, Eric Templet and his wife, Patricia. She was the devoted grandmother of Kevin Day, Carla Day, Kurt Day, Colin Glover, Kye Glover, Alex Templet, and Emily Woods, Evan Rodick, Delaine Gallegos, Billy Rogers, III, Tyler Rogers, Reagan Rogers, Hallie Rogers, Tyler Fuller, Madison George, Katie Sue Fuller, Hannah Templet and Nicholas Templet. She was the loving great grandmother Joy Hardee, Zach Day, Genevieve Glover, Elias Rodick, Junia Rodick, Valerie Gallegos, Sabino Gallegos, Rylan Rogers, Rayne Rogers, Braylin Rogers, Barrett Rogers, and arriving in April, Cylas George.
Becky is preceded in death by her parents, George T Sanchez, of Baton Rouge, and Mary Arbour Sanchez, of Thibodeaux, LA. as well as her brother, George Patrick Sanchez, as well as her sisters, Patricia S Faulkner, Katherine S. Kleinpeter, Rose Marie S. Lacoste, and George Ann S. Bernard. Becky is also preceded in death by her grandson, Tanner Rogers.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Evening Visitation at Serenity Funeral Home, 20419 Hwy 36 in Covington, LA, on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church, 72040 Maple St., Abita Springs, LA, at 1:00 PM with Morning Visitation beginning at 11:00 AM. Immediately following the Mass, a Reception will be held at St. Jane Hall.
