Melissa Ann Schock (née Smith), 41, of Bush, Louisiana, passed away on August 13, 2024. Born on March 18, 1983, in Covington, Louisiana, she was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her.
Melissa was a free-spirited and beautiful soul, known for her dedication as a wife and daughter. She was a natural at hair and makeup, a passion she pursued by studying cosmetology at Aveda Beauty School. Melissa's creativity shone through in her hobbies, which included crafting, reading, painting, and art.
Her life was a testament to love and service to others. Melissa was a dedicated caretaker to her mother, Gail Brignac Smith, and a loving stepmother to her five stepchildren: Kadence Wahl Schock, Talon Connor Schock, Chloey Grace Schock, Serenity Leighann Schock, and Tobias Reed Schock, all of whom she adored immensely. Her unwavering support and love extended to her husband, Richard Heyward Schock, who was also her best friend, her sister Stephanie Smith Jones, and her lifelong friend, Victoria Steward.
Melissa found spiritual nourishment at the Church of the King, where she was an active member. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Albert Smith Sr., uncles, David Bri, Eddie Lovell, Terry and Danny Brignac and cousin Sandy Mchughes.
The family will receive friends on August 29. 2024, at 5:00 PM with a Memorial Service at 7:00 PM at Serenity Funeral Home, 20419 Highway 36, Covington, Louisiana 70433. Pastor Jack Boudreaux will officiate. In memory of Melissa, contributions can be made to the Heart Society or the March of Dimes, organizations that reflect her giving spirit and commitment to helping others.
Melissa's legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched with her generosity and loving spirit. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
