This week, our family says goodbye to a special sister and aunt, Mary Ann Badickino. Mary was born to Eloise Mercier Badickino and Arthur Joseph Badickino in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her love for ice cream, funny hats, and reading magazines brought joy to those around her. Despite her lifelong challenges, Mary possessed a vibrant, happy, loving, and joyful disposition. Her infectious smile and laughter were contagious, spreading happiness to those fortunate enough to be in her presence. Mary leaves behind a large family that will miss her deeply. She is survived by her beloved twin sister, Anna Badickino Ashe, her sisters, Marlene Badickino Stout, Peggy Badickino Glynn; her brother-in-law, Robert Glynn; her seven nieces and nephews, Sherri Stout Faamuli, Joseph Stout Jr., Pamela Stout Dussor, Stephanie Stout Wheelock, Tammy Glynn Keppel, Gregory Ashe, and Ryan Ashe. Mary is preceded in death by her grandparents, Ernest and Rosalie Mercier, Arthur and Theresa Badickino, her aunt Catherine Mercier LeFebvre, her cousin, Kenneth LeFebvre, and her niece, Sonya Glynn Riche. A native of New Orleans, Mary relocated to Decatur, Alabama, after Hurricane Katrina in 2006. Her family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all of the wonderful people who graced Mary's life with their warmth, generosity, expertise, courage, wisdom, and love. The family is also immensely grateful to the devoted team at CDD of North Central Alabama and Hospice of the Valley for their kind, patient, and compassionate care to Mary and her loved ones during such a difficult time.
