Marlene Theresa (Engeron) Tardo

Marlene “Marilyn” Theresa Engeron Tardo, 88, of New Orleans, La. passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born August 29, 1935, in Houma, La. to Clifton and Dorina Garibot Engeron. Marilyn was a member of the Catholic faith.  She retired as a Secretary from Our Lady Star of the Sea and Holy Rosary Academy after over 40 years of dedication. Marilyn leaves treasured memories with lifelong friends and special neighbors. You could always find Marilyn busy at her hobbies of reading, sewing, cross stitching and playing cards. She shared her love for cooking with many, and also loved having a cup of coffee with bread and butter.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her Husband of 52 Years, Anthony Frank Tardo Sr., Son, Anthony Frank Tardo Jr., Parents, Clifton & Dorina Engeron and Sister, Deanie Hebert.

She is survived by her Son, Carmelo “Mel” Tardo of New Orleans, Daughter-In-Law, Melissa Smith Tardo of Mandeville, La., Sisters, Elizabeth Martin, Marion Callais, Sherry Bordelon, Grandchildren, Lindsay Tardo, Mallory Tardo Tappenden (Jeff), Sean Tardo, Danielle Tardo, Chris Tardo (Kendall), Joey Tardo, 8 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 10:00 AM with Funeral Services at 11:00 AM at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 20419 Hwy. 36, Covington, La. 70433. Rev. Alex Guzman will officiate.
