Mario Antonio “Tony” Gordon, Jr., a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and friend, left an indelible mark on the lives of those he touched. Known for his boundless energy, unwavering loyalty, and kind spirit, Tony was loved deeply and will be missed profoundly by his family, friends, and community.

Family and Loved Ones

Tony is survived by his devoted wife, Kimberly N. Gordon, and his cherished daughter, Stella Zoe Gordon (College Junior and Scholar). He also leaves behind his loving father, Mario Antonio Gordon, Sr. (and wife), his mother-in-law, Barbara Nuenenhoff, and two sibling-in-laws. Tony’s siblings, Jennifer L. Gordon, Jasmine S. Gordon, and his twin, Kandice N. Gordon-Merrick, mourn his passing alongside numerous paternal and maternal nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Tony's uncles, Carlos Gordon, Renaldo Gordon, Willie Williams, and Robert Williams; his aunts, Sylvia Gordon, Amelia Gordon, Xiomara Gordon, Lydia Roberson, Dorothy Hall, and Veronica Williams, also hold his memory close to their hearts.

A Distinguished Military Career

Mario Antonio “Tony” Gordon, Jr. proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he forged a remarkable and honorable career. Over his years of service, Tony demonstrated courage, leadership, and resilience, participating in three wars in Iraq, Kosovo, and Bosnia. His dedication to his fellow soldiers and his nation left an enduring legacy of bravery and selflessness.

A Life Well Lived

Tony was not only a dedicated soldier but also a treasured member of his community. Known affectionately as a friend to many, he was never a stranger to the neighbors of Europe (Germany and Belgium and surrounding areas), New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Folsom and Covington. A talented athlete, Tony was a cross-country track star at Covington High School and had a lifelong love for soccer, seizing every opportunity to kick a ball on the field.

He was equally known for his warm personality and determination, often walking miles to visit friends or share a meal at the Cyprian’s, one of his favorite places. Tony’s genuine kindness and ability to connect with people made him a pillar of his community and a source of inspiration to those around him.

Mario Antonio “Tony” Gordon, Jr. leaves behind a legacy of love, honor, and service. Though his absence is deeply felt, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who

knew him. His courage, kindness, and unwavering spirit will forever be remembered and cherished.

Services

The family will receive friends on January 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM with a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 20419 Hwy. 36, Covington, La. 70433.  Pastor Marvin Austin will officiate.
