Maggie James Redman, 54, of Covington LA., passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2023, surrounded by family. She was a native of New Orleans, LA., former resident of Chalmette, LA. and a resident of Covington, LA. Maggie worked as a Bartender in New Orleans and Chalmette for many years. A lifelong caretaker, Maggie always put others’ needs above her own.
Maggie is preceded in death by her Parents, Mickey and Marie James of New Orleans, and her Great Aunt and Best Friend, Valerie Morgan of Slidell, LA.
She is survived by her son Holden Redman, her Granddaughter Charlotte Redman, her Sisters, Lisa King, Christine Kelly, and Laurie Van Mechlen, her Brother-in-Law, Andrew Voelkel Sr., her Nieces and Nephews, Mathew and Nicole James King, Olivia James King, Leslie and Petey King, Emily and Andrew Voelkel Jr., Brian and Rachel Morgan, Brittany and Darren Morgan, Brad Morgan, and all their children.
The family would like to give special thanks to Nurse KayKay, of Traditions Hospice, and to many of the friends who supported her: Julie, Brandy, Jane, Tony, Martha, Genie, Jimmy, Jennifer, Jean, and all others too numerous to name.
A private gathering will be held at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to direct donations to Northshore Humane Society.
Arrangements are entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home of Covington, La.
