Louis “L.C.” Stire, Jr., received his 50-yard sideline football ticket to every heavenly game on February 28, 2025. He might even be given the chance to referee with The Big Man upstairs. L.C. passed away peacefully, in his home of Abita Springs, LA., surrounded by family, friends and his two cats, Lucky and Precious.
L.C. was preceded in death by his Mother, Genevieve Lemons Stire, Stepmother, Althea Hewson Stire, Father, Louis C. Stire Sr. and Brother, Robert “Mickey” Lemons.
He is survived by his Wife of 45 Years, Mary Martin Stire, Daughters, Christine Clayton, Maggie Stire-Schmitt, Siblings, Sharon Lemons Palliser, Kathy Lemons Sharp, Patty Lemons Rahmel, Kayron Stire Satterlee (Herbert) and numerous Nieces, Nephews and Friends.
L.C. worked many jobs in his lifetime from offshore oil rigs with McDermott to, most recently, the Town of Abita Springs. He has amassed a great number of friends in his long lifetime. L.C. will be missed tremendously. He will also be missed by the squirrels that would patiently wait for him on the back patio to be fed peanuts.
May he rest peacefully knowing that he was loved by all his family, friends and every animal that came into the Stire house.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home of Covington, La.
