Linda Brasset

Linda B. Brasset passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, after years of bravely battling cancer. Born in Oklahoma City, Linda and her family moved around in the Southern states often before moving to New Orleans, LA in 1962, and then finally residing in Gretna, LA for 54 years.

Linda was a devoted mother and is survived by her children, Jesse J. Brasset, III (Debra), Michelle Brasset Meche (the late John Harris Meche), and Susanne Brasset; Grandmother to Devin Meche and Julian Meche; Sister of Sandra Cline and Paula G. Burney; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 35 years, Jesse J. Brasset, Jr.; her Parents, Samuel T. Burney and Rosalee V. Burney; and Sister, Sherri C. Marseglia.

Linda will be remembered for her singing and theater performances. Her most treasured role was being a Granny to her two grandchildren. Linda will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Faith Presbyterian Church, 2525 Apollo Ave., Harvey, LA 70058. The Service will start at 1:00 PM with Visitation beginning at 12:30 PM.
