Leo N. Combe Jr., of Covington Louisiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 3, 2025, at the age of 79. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend that will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Leo was born on August 28, 1945, in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he attended Mater Dolorosa Elementary School and graduating from De La Salle High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps reserves to serve his country. He started a world wind career at Stanley Tools, ultimately serving as the Vice President of Marketing and Sales which took him on a journey across the United States. Upon his retirement he returned to New Orleans with his family where he became a devoted member of Church of the King serving the Lord. Leo lived a life marked by faith, love, and generosity, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. He lived by God’s principals, always striving to do the right thing.
Leo is preceded in death by his parents, Leo N. Combe Sr. and Gloria Mangiaracina Combe, and his mother-in-law Ida Borne.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Rosie Combe, whose love was the cornerstone of his life; beloved brother-in-law of Mel Borne, who provided endless love, care, and sacrifice throughout his life; proud father of Monte Combe and Jeffery Combe (Tara Rodrigue); daughter-in-law Marnie Combe; cherished grandfather to Kyle Combe, Alex Combe, (Kortney), Kaitlyn Combe, Emerson Combe, and Elliott Combe. Leo’s legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Bronson, (Kyle), Kameron (Kaitlyn), and soon-to-be Meadow (Alex) and countless family and lifelong friends whom he deeply cherished.
Known for wearing many hats, he was a man who gave more than he received, touching countless lives with his kindness and humor. Whether you called him Husband, Dad, Pop, or Uncle Leo – a title he held for many - he left a positive, lasting impression on everyone he knew. His playful refrain, “Get a napkin, knucklehead!” and “Take what you want but eat what you take!” will echo fondly in the hearts of those he loved. His light touched generations, and his spirit will forever dwell in the hearts of all who knew him. We thank God for the gift of his life and the example he set.
Leo’s life will be celebrated at a future date. The family request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Hospital.
Arrangements are entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home of Covington, La.
