Kristin Leigh Emden

Kristin Leigh Emden, 34, of Abita Springs, La., left our world on Saturday, December 14, 2024.  Born on November 6, 1990, in LaPlace, La. she lived in Abita Spring, La. most of her life.  She graduated from Fontainebleau High School Class of 2009 and attended Southeastern University.  Kristin was a member of the Christian faith.  She was a radiant soul who had a remarkable ability to light up any room she entered.  Her warmth, kindness, and selfless spirit left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to have known her.  Kristin was born with a deep love for animals and had a heart that always sought to help those in need.  Whether it was rescuing a stray or offering   a helping hand to a friend or stranger, Kristin embodied compassion in all she did.  Her empathy and generosity knew no limits, and she was often the first to step up when someone needed support.  Kristin’s vibrant presence brought joy and light into countless lives.  She had an infectious laugh, a radiant smile, and an energy that could turn any moment into something unforgettable.  Her bond with animals was particularly special – they seemed to know instinctively that she was their friend.

Kristin was preceded in death by her Father, David Emden, Paternal Grandparents, Don and Juanita Emden, Maternal Grandfathers, William Smith and Clifton Cortez, and Uncle, David Smith

She is survived by her Mother, Janet Clark and husband Michael of Abita Springs, La., Brothers, CDR Jason Delaneuville and wife Jennifer of Virginia Beach, Va., Jeremy Delaneuville and wife Jennifer of Nashville, Tn., Paul Emden and wife Leslie of Baton Rouge, La. Sister, Grace Emden Lee and husband Ryan of Baton Rouge, La., Maternal Grandmother, Charnelcia Lou Cortez of Ponchatoula, La., Nieces, Jacquelyn, Vivian, Marietta, Eloise, Dorothy, Nephew, Oliver, Arthur and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 10AM with a Celebration of Life Service at 11 AM at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 20419 Hwy. 36, Covington, La. 70433.  Pastor Winfred Baker will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made In Honor of her memory and love for animals to Northshore Humane Society, 20384 Harrison Ave., Covington, La., 70433.  Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.  Though Kristin’s time with us was far too brief, her light, love, and kindness will shine on in the hearts of all who were touched by her remarkable spirit.  May she Rest in Peace, surrounded by the love she gave so freely in life.
