Kathy (Rudd) McKnight

Kathy Rudd McKnight, 70, of Madisonville, La. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, surrounded by her family.  She is a native of Dothan, Alabama and a resident of Madisonville, La.  Kathy attended college earning her degree as a Registered Nurse which enabled her to help and serve her community.  She was of the Baptist faith and continued to be faithful saying her prayers daily.  Kathy enjoyed gardening her flowers, reading her Bible, spending time with family and friends while spoiling her grandchildren who knew her as Nana.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, Charlie and Jeanne Jordan Rudd and Sister, Debbie Stephens.

Kathy is survived by her Sons, Bradley Mixon and wife Mami of Madisonville, La., Matthew Mixon and wife Jasmine of Naples, Italy, Michael “Doug” Kirkland and wife Leigh of Dothan, Alabama, Grandchildren, Charlie, Noah, Melody, Matthew, Douglas, Shelby, Cooper and many other friends and family.

The family will receive friends at 9:30 AM, Wednesday, August 7, 2024, with a service at 11:00 AM at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 20419 Hwy. 36, Covington, La 70433.  Pastor Winfred Baker will officiate.  Interment will be at Abita Spring Cemetery in Abita Springs.

The family would like to thank St. Tammany Hospice & Palliative Care for the care and generosity extended to Kathy during her illness.
