Karen Flot Obituary
Karen “Dit” Rita Lawrence Flot passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022 at the age of 59. Daughter of Vera Lawrence and Thomas Lawrence, Sr. She grew up in Slidell, LA and resided in Lacombe, LA with her husband James Barry Flot of 32 years. Karen graduated from Salmen High School. She loved to crab, fish, and travel. She was a special needs teacher at Chahta Ima Elementary for 17 years, and she was also a personal cook and photographer.
She is survived by her husband James, her children Paul Johnnie Flot, Jenee’ Leslie Flot Butler (Nathinel), Thomas Lawrence Flot, her step children James “Quince” Flot, Sr., Randy O’Neal Flot, Sr. (Samantha), Lakia Flot, Chris Flot, her father-n-law Larry Flot, Sr., her siblings Dilana “Pete” L. Miller (David), “Pat” Jones, Ethel “Monkey” McDuffie (Robert), MaryAlice “Teddy” Lawrence Faciane (Lance), Thomas “Tom” Dwight Lawrence (Darla), Lesley “Lou” Lawrence Sylve (Corey), Thirteen grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Vera and Thomas Lawrence, her siblings Carla “Kool Aid” Ceaser, Lecia “Fox” Smith, Alvin Lawrence, Cristia “Irvine” Lawrence, Thomas Lawrence, Frances Lawrence, Larry Huggup, and her daughter Asia Lawrence. She is loved and will be missed by many family members and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Serenity Funeral Home, 20419 Highway 36, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, June 4, 2022. Visitation begins at 10:30 AM and Service begins at Noon.
