Junie Hunt Jenkins Strother passed away surrounded by her loving family in Perkinston, MS on Thursday, August 31, 2023. Loving mother of Holice B. Jenkins and his wife, Karen, Brian K. Jenkins and his wife, LaDean, Veronica A. Hall and her husband, Scott, and Rebecca R. Ruppert and her husband David. Devoted grandmother of 14, and great grandmother of 23, and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Junie is preceded in death by her beloved late husband, Mst. Sgt. Alvin Wayne Strother, as well her late parents, Earl and Vernie Hunt, and her siblings, Kenneth Hunt, Wayne Hunt, Shelby Jean Beliew, Joan Camp, and Elizabeth Smith.
Junie loved working in her garden tending to her flowers, her pup Gracie, Hallmark movies, and Westerns. She was an avid reader, most especially her Bible. She was a devoted grandmother and great grandmother, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life service at Serenity Funeral Home, 20419 Hwy 36, Covington, LA, on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 12:00 PM, with Visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Shepherd’s Care Cemetery, Covington, LA.
