Joyce Rainey Obituary
Joyce Rainey passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 in Lacombe, LA at the age of 90. She was born in Independence, LA and lived there for 20 years, then she lived briefly in New Orleans and Kenner during the 1960’s. For the past 48 years she resided in Lacombe, LA.
Devoted mother of Linda Rainey Wiggins and Samuel Rainey. She is survived by 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Loving wife of the late Edward M. Rainey for 73 years. She is preceded in death by her parents Willie Elvin Mizell and Gladys Terrell Mizell, her sons James Rainey and Murel Rainey, Sr., and her brother Alton Mizell, Sr.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend her Funeral Service at Serenity Funeral Home, 20419 Highway 36, Covington, LA 70433 on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Visitation begins at 10:00 AM. Interment will be on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Slidell, LA.
