Josephine (Chastain) Brannon

Josephine “Jo” Chastain Brannon, age 94, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born in Grove Hill, AL and resided in Covington, LA for the last 38 years. She is survived by her beloved children, Jo Ann Dewalt (Ken) of Mishicot, WI, Billy Brannon (Pam) of Chalmette, Debbie Kovach of Madisonville, and sister, Ann Chastain of Philadelphia, PA. She is preceded in death by her husband of 74 Years, Henry W. Brannon, Parents, Joseph Chastain and Cora McKinley Brown, and Son-In-Law, Tony Kovach. Josephine retired from CNA Insurance in 1991. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and was an avid reader. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Affectionately known as Gramma to 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Grandmother to Jennifer Dewalt Chandler (Darrel), Brad Dewalt (Oi-Ling), Laurel Dewalt Stodola (Chad), Kendra Dewalt Bennett (Paul), Jeffrey Brannon (Jeanne), Michelle Brannon Fazzio (Nick), and Jeremy Kovach (Celia). Jo is forever loved and will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Josephine's Inurnment will take place at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Dr, Slidell, LA on Monday, June 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
