Joseph Michael Cochran Sr., a lifelong native of New Orleans and resident of Paradis, Louisiana, passed away on April 25, 2025, reuniting with the greatest love of his life, the late Norma Schneider Cochran. Preceded in death by his parents, Hugh A. Cochran and Marie V. Cochran, three brothers, Abbie, Huey, and Henry Cochran, and his sister, Merline Yarbrough and survived by his brother, Walter Cochran.
Joe was a devoted father to his daughters, Marie C. Moulin (Kenny) and Chee-ah C. Heurtin (Chris), as well as his late son, Joseph M. Cochran Jr. He was a loving “Paw-Paw” to his grandchildren, Carl V. Dennis II, Christin M. Dennis, Michael J. Cochran (Diamond), Lee-ah R. Heurtin, and the late John J. Dennis Jr., as well as a great-grandfather to Valisy Star Dennis. He is survived by countless family members and friends who cherish him.
A jack-of-all-trades, Joe excelled at everything he undertook. Known for his storytelling and humor, he loved to tease and joke, making everyone feel like family. Rest assured, if Joe teased you with his playful humor, you were undoubtedly considered family. His warmth and laughter touched all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Graveside Service at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 10:00 AM.
