Jeffrey Alan Gaynor, 78, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away at home on March 16, 2026, after a long battle with COPD. He was born on April 11, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Sanford and Carolyn Gaynor. At a young age, he moved with his family to New Orleans, Louisiana.
Jeff attended the University of New Orleans, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music, and continued his studies at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He built a successful career as a Real Estate Broker and Corporate Sales Manager, working in Georgia, Colorado, Maryland, and Tennessee. He was honored multiple times as Sales Manager of the Year, an achievement that reflected the respect and admiration of his team. After many years of corporate real estate transfers, Jeff and Karyn settled in Slidell in 2014, where they were surrounded by extended family. He shared a precious 37-year marriage with his beloved wife, Karyn Gaynor.
Jeff was a loving husband and a great father to his three children. He is survived by his children, Thomas Gaynor, Jayme Cleveland, and Krystal Enger; and his grandchildren, Austin Cleveland and Savannah Cleveland, who held a very special place in his heart. He was deeply proud of each of his children and grandchildren.
Jeff’s deep love of music was rooted in New Orleans jazz, and he was a talented drummer. He especially admired artists such as Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, and Charles Mingus. He also enjoyed reading and spending time with his family.
He will be remembered for his kindness, his quiet humor, and his deep love for those closest to him.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
