James Cameron Calvert "Jim Buck Mason" age 58 years, of Bogalusa, LA, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 4, 2023, surrounded by his family.
James was born on May 5, 1965, in Columbia, Missouri to Carolyn F. Mekan and Jim B. Mason. James grew up in Chino, Ca and attended Chino High School, after which, he moved to Bernie, Mo where he resided for several years. He moved to Covington, LA where he met and married the love of his life Stacey Calvert, on April 11, 1990. In the years following they had three children whom they loved dearly. James had many jobs throughout his life. For many years, he worked as a long-haul truck driver and loved being on the open road driving 18 wheelers. Later in life he worked as a landscaper; He loved a good, manicured lawn and this is where he met some of his lifelong friends. In 2008, he even started his own landscaping business which he named AGN after his first three grandchildren. He had a big heart with so much love to give. Most of his life he spent helping those in need. Whether it was a stranger on the street corner needing a hot meal and a place to sleep, or a friend that had a need. He was loving and selfless. James loved watching Nascar. To get his children and grandchildren laughing he would even pretend he was a Nascar driver shifting gears and making racing sounds. He also loved a good football game. It didn't matter what team was playing, he just loved the game. His true love and passion were his family; He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren more than anything. James will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
James is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Stacey A. Calvert; son Corey M. Calvert (Tana Calvert) (Dakota Chavers) and daughters; Heather C. Williams (Robert Williams) and Nicole L. Calvert; his Beloved grandchildren; Noah M. Calvert, Lakyn J. Calvert, Brezlyn Chavers, Cayson A. Calvert, Peyton J. Williams, Grace L. Whitaker, Devanie M. Williams, Robbi-Renee' Williams, Abbiegayle A. Calvert, Michael J. Benetrix, Dorothy M. Fisher, Kaden Burns. He is also survived by his parents, Carolyn F. Mekan and (stepfather)Ronald L. Calvert, as well as his siblings Danny Mason, Matthew Calvert, Shantel Calvert, and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, aunts, uncles, and friends.
