Isabell Ruth (Pierre) Lanier

Isabell Ruth Pierre Lanier passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Forest Manor Nursing Home on Thursday, January 16, 2025 in Covington, LA. A native and lifelong resident of Folsom, LA, age 92 years. Cherished wife of 66 years of the late James Huey Lanier. Loving mother of Dale Kevin Lanier of Folsom, LA. Devoted grandmother of Tiffany Michelle Lanier Prevost(Jeff), and Jonathan Bruce Lanier(Kristen). Affectionate great grandmother of Blaine Alan Prevost, Jillian Isabella Prevost, Makayla Lanier, and Haylee Lanier. Devoted sister of Laurabell Glaze and Alfred Pierre, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Blaine Lanier; her parents, Leander and Celina Warren Pierre; and her siblings, Alphonse Pierre, Theresa Carrier, Bernice Tarantino, and Maurice Pierre.

Isabell and James were avid travellers, who journeyed far and wide, from California to Africa, and especially loved fishing at their camp on Toledo Bend Lake. In later years, they travelled the southern states, following the Driskill Mountain Boys bluegrass band from festival to festival. They met many friends along the way, making  many fun memories together.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service to be held at Lee Hill Baptist Church, 11007 Lee Settlement Rd., Folsom, LA on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM with Visitation beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment to follow at Southeast LA Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Rd., Slidell, LA at 1:30 PM. Arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Covington, LA.
