Helen L. Carpenter

Helen L. Carpenter, 69, of Covington, La., passed away peacefully on Monday, May 27, 2024.  She was a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Covington, La.  Helen graduated from Delgado Community College with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice.  She was a member of Church of the King which she attended faithfully until her illness.  Helen enjoyed scrap booking, watching TV, baking, her Dog Rascal, cheering for the New Orleans Saints and visiting friends and family.  Helen was looking forward to the birth of a granddaughter at the end of the year.

She is preceded in death by her Mother, Grace Sheehan Castillo & husband Louis Castillo and Brother, Marvin Carpenter.

Helen is survived by her Sons, Michael Carpenter of Covington, La., Mark Carpenter and wife Marissa of Mandeville, Brother, Mark L. Carpenter of Covington, La., Sisters, Donna Carpenter Scherner of Mobile, Ala., Sue Boudreaux and husband Eddie of Folsom, La., Niece, Melinda Carpenter of Coral Gables, FL and numerous Cousins and Friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 10:00 AM with a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 20419 Hwy. 36, Covington, La. 70433.  Pastor Dan Rivera will officiate.  Inurnment will follow at Abita Springs Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Tara O’Quin for the continuous care she provided to Helen during her illness.
