Heather Elizabeth Brown

Heather Elizabeth Brown departed from this world on December 1, 2024.  She was born on December 19, 1981, in New Orleans, La.  Heather was a registered nurse and was also in the Air National Guard. During her time in the military, she held the rank of Staff Sergeant and was awarded the Bronze Star for her role during Operation Iraqi Freedom.  Heather was a fighter to the end, having battled cancer and finally was overcome by congestive heart failure.  She enjoyed traveling, volunteering with the homeless and was a self-taught artist.   Heather liked to go by the name, Lonnie Lonza giving tribute to her late grandfather.

She is preceded in death by her Grandmothers, Betsy Marten, Virginia McWilliams, Elizabeth Autin, Grandfathers, Bill Marten, Lonnie McWilliams Jr., Dr. Buford Autin Sr. and Brother, David McWilliams.

Heather is survived by her Mother, Martha McWilliams, Fathers, Tony McWilliams and John G. Autin, Daughter, Sophia Smith, Sons, Carson Smith, Cristian Brown, Stepsons, Craig Smith Jr., Cole Smith and Patrick Brown.

Special thanks to Earth Angels, Tom and Mary (Bebe) Fitzpatrick, for their loving convalescent care at their home in the last months of Heather’s life.

Heather will be cremated at Serenity Funeral home in Covington, La. and a Celebration of Life Service will be scheduled at a later date.
