Gerald Merlin "Jerry" Juan, Sr. Obituary

Gerald Merlin "Jerry" Juan, Sr. passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. A lifelong resident of the New Orleans area, Jerry was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, and spent most of his life in Metairie, where he built a life centered on family, friendship, and laughter.

Jerry dedicated many years of his career to National American Bank, where he served as an Assistant Manager. He was admired and respected by his coworkers for his kindness, integrity, and warm personality, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Nothing brought Jerry more joy than spending time with his family. He especially cherished making memories with his grandchildren, whether playing cards, sharing stories, or enjoying each other's company. He could often be found trying his luck on the penny slot machines at the casino or attending local parades. Mardi Gras held a special place in his heart, and he looked forward to celebrating it each year with the enthusiasm and spirit that defined him. Jerry was truly the life of every gathering, bringing smiles, laughter, and unforgettable memories wherever he went.

Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lois Fast Dudenhefer (Harry); his son, Gerald Merlin Juan, Jr.(Tammy); and his brother, Delmero Juan, Jr.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving daughter, Toni Juan Chagnard (Ray); his grandchildren, Christy Juan (Tanya), Erica Bostic (Daniel), Megan Juan, and Kalleigh Flucke (Christian); and his treasured great-grandchildren, Daniel Jr., Averi, Katelyn, Madden, Easton, Chaise, Marshall, and Maren. His family will forever remember his generous heart, infectious sense of humor, and the unconditional love he shared with each of them.

Jerry's legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched with his compassion, humor, and unwavering devotion to family. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of Jerry's life is currently being planned. Service details will be announced and posted on the Serenity Funeral Home website once they become available.
