Gerald Frederick Boos, Sr.

Gerald Frederick Boos, Sr., 83, of Franklinton, LA passed away Monday, July 21, 2025, surrounded by his family.  He was born in New Orleans on August 5, 1941, and was a former longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish before moving to Franklinton in 2005 following the destruction of Hurricane Katrina.  Gerald was retired after a long career with the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office in St. Bernard Parish.  He was a member of the Catholic faith.  Gerald loved working in his woodshop and helping others with their projects.  He was a self-taught handyman and enjoyed his wife’s cooking and visiting with friends and family.

Gerald was preceded in death by his Wife of 61 Years, Linda Olivier Boos, Parents, Henry & Georgiana Boos.

He is survived by his Children and Spouses: Terri Boos, Gerald, Jr. and Angie Boos, Sherri and James Hogan.  Grandchildren and Spouses: Nicholas Duplessis and wife Kaylee, Jason McCutcheon and wife Brianna, Abby and James Hudgins, Jeremy McCutcheon, Zoe Boos,
Kevin Hogan, Meghan Hogan, Daniel Hogan, In-laws, Elaine & Danny Olivier, Ruby Olivier, Bruce and Maryann Olivier, Great Granddaughter, Olivia and soon to be Great Grandson, Hudson, Lifelong Friends: Armand, Sharon, Fay, Wayne, Randy, Denny, Tina and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many dear friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Joseph Abbey near Covington (75376 River Road, St. Benedict, LA) on Monday, August 4, 2025, at 2:00 PM.  Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to Friends of St. Francis, c/o Holy Family Catholic Church, 1220 14th Ave., Franklinton, LA 70438.
