Floyd Simeon Jr., age 77, entered into eternal rest on June 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A devoted Catholic, Floyd lived a life guided by faith, love, and a deep sense of family. His passing marks the end of a life richly lived and deeply loved.
Born on September 10, 1947, to Floyd Simeon Sr. and Mary Lou Simeon, Floyd was raised with strong values rooted in faith, hard work, and loyalty. He carried those values into every season of his life—from his roles as a son and brother to those of a husband, father, and grandfather.
Floyd was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen Anna Simeon, who went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 10, 2018. Their love was unwavering, and Floyd’s heart ached for her every day until the Lord called him home. Floyd and Karen dated for eight years and were married at St. Anthony of Padua Church, enjoying 48 beautiful years together. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Sr. and Mary Lou.
He is survived by his three children, each of whom carries his legacy forward; his son, Floyd J. Simeon III, and his wife Melissa Rae Bennett Simeon, along with Floyd’s grandson, Floyd Simeon IV; his son, Scott Devin Simeon, and his wife, Melissa Haney Simeon; his daughter, Stephanie Simeon Nealon, and her husband, Timothy Nealon.
He is also survived by his brother, Eddie Simeon, as well as a host of extended family members and friends who were blessed to know him. Floyd and his beloved Karen shared a spirit of adventure, traveling the world together and cherishing every destination they explored. Of all the places they visited, Hawaii held a special place in Floyd’s heart—a paradise he always longed to return to.
After earning his degree, Floyd began his career as a beloved Biology teacher at Archbishop Rummel High School. He later transitioned into a successful career in pharmaceutical sales, first with Syntex and then with Hoffmann-La Roche. His charm and integrity made him a friend to all and a trusted colleague.
A proud lifelong supporter of Tulane Athletics, Floyd rarely missed a football game, whether from the stands or at home. He also had a deep love for the New Orleans Saints and especially enjoyed attending games with his family and friends.
In his later years, Floyd enjoyed his home in Beau Chêne, where he could often be found on the golf course or at the club with friends. He also found great joy in his second home in Destin, Florida, where he created countless cherished memories with his wife, children, and grandchild.
