Faith Aurelia Barfield

Faith Aurelia Barfield, passed peacefully on Sunday evening November 17th in Covington, LA.  Her final moments were spent with family.  Born in New Orleans, she was known for her love of cooking and baking which turned into a successful business, Baking by Faith.  Her personal passion was to travel the world having visited all seven continents.

She is preceded, in death by her Mother Nina Esther Polito, Father Irvin M. Carbalan, Husband AJ “Johnny” Barfield her Sons David P. Barfield and Gregory C. Barfield and Sister Donna P. Parker (Anthony).

Faith is survived by her Daughters Deborah B. Brower (Dr. Robert Dwight) Pamela B. Crane (Charles) and Daughter-In-Law Angela F. Barfield, Sisters Phyllis P. Greenblatt (Hoyt), Rose P. Wooden, Gloria P. Schexnayder (Dr. Glenn) and Brother Philip B. Polito (Anne).

She was blessed with nine Grandchildren, R. Patrick Brower, Cecily R. Crane, Cynthia E. Fusciardi (Giovanni) Kyle C. Barfield (Laura), Carey E. Barfield, Rachel F. Von Gruben (Dr. Michael), Kristen M. Wanner (DJ), Lindsay C. Barfield and Christopher C. Crane (Emily).

Faith was also blessed with many Great Grandchildren, Thomas, Joseph, Caroline, Zachary, Luke, Alex and Ben Von Gruben, Harrison and Hayden Barfield, Jace, Ava and Cameron Wanner, Leonardo, Evelina and Viviana Fusciardi and Penelope Crane.

Our family would like to extend grateful appreciation to Passages Hospice staff members especially Kendra, Crystal and Mary.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Our family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 10:00 AM with a Memorial Mass at 12:00 PM at Serenity Funeral Home, 20419 Hwy. 36, Covington, LA 70433. Rev. Daniel Okafor will officiate.

Celebration of Faith’s life will be held at Dr. Michael and Rachel Von Gruben’s residence following the service.
