Claude Todaro, Sr.

Claude Todaro, Sr. peacefully passed away with family at his side on Friday, February 27, 2026 in Covington, LA. A native of Harvey, LA and longtime resident of Kenner, age 99 years.

Beloved husband of the late Rita May Artus Todaro. Loving father of Claude Todaro, Jr.(Denise), Linda Todaro Thomas(Chuck), Karen Sue Todaro, and Missi Todaro Williams. Devoted grandfather of Jeffrey Todaro(Lauryn), and Emily Sue Todaro; loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Claude will also be missed by his devoted grand-dogs, Ty, Toby, and Tally.

Claude is preceded in death by his late parents, Rosalino and Frances Sedita Todaro, as well as his siblings; Camille Todaro, Vincent Todaro, Jack Todaro, Tony Todaro, Josephine Landry, Mary Lafront, Lucy Vidonne, and Rose Crescione.

Claude graduated from Gretna High School, and attended Delgado Community College as well as Loyola University. Enlisting in the U. S. Navy, he proudly served in WWII and the Korean Conflict. After military service, he became a barber, like his father, working several places until he opened Claude’s Barber Shop in 1966, based in Kenner. He was most active in Kenner civic activities and politics, serving on the Kenner City Council, Kenner Civic Associations Presidents Club, Kenner Lions Club, Louisiana State Board of Barber Examiners, Knights of Columbus, Kenner Naval Museum Commission, VFW Post #6640, American Legion, Kenner Veterans Park, East Jefferson Hospital Advisory Board, and Kenner’s Beautification, Sewage and Water, Planning and Zoning, Charter Change, October Fest, and Kenner Gaming Commissions.

A Memorial Service of Remembrance will be held at a later date.
