Chris Alan Barcelona Sr., 67, a lifetime resident of St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana, passed away Thursday morning, March 3, 2022 at Ochsner Main Campus from Covid. Chris was born in 1954 to Angelo and Betty Dearmon Barcelona. He is a 1974 graduate of Chalmette High School. While still in high school he met his beautiful wife Peggy Ruiz Barcelona, on Friday the 13th, 1971 and married 3 years later in 1974. At a young age he began his career as a welder for Lockheed Martin, where he retired from in 2010. Chris enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to go fishing and hunting every chance he got, traveling to multiple states with his family hunting. He was the kind of person that was always helping others without question, the strongest, most compassionate person around. He loved his children and grandchildren and even bonus grandchildren with all of his heart. Chris is survived by his loving wife Peggy, and their two children Christie Barcelona Lovell, her spouse Bobby Lovell, and Chris Barcelona, Jr., and his partner Brittany Nunez. His grandchildren are Callie Lovell, Lacie Lovell, Luke Lovell, Reese Lovell, Peyton Beal, Huntar Barcelona, Skylee Barcelona, and Angel Barcelona. He also has two bonus grandkids, Madison and Kirk Ranko, as well as a bonus great-grandson, Madden Hendrix. He has two sisters Angela Barcelona Audler and her husband Charlie, and Betty Jean Cagle and her husband Clyde, a brother Steve Barcelona and his wife Linda. He also has numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2621 Colonial Blvd., Violet, LA 70092 from 9:30 AM until 12 Noon, with a Mass following.
