Charles Delatte Obituary

Charles Noel Delatte, 77, of Franklinton, La., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, with his wife by his side after a long battle with liver cancer.  He was born in New Orleans, La. on June 6, 1947, to Walden J. and Theresa C. Delatte and was a resident of Franklinton, La.  Charles was a graduate of De La Salle High School.  He then graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor Degree in Chemistry and Loyola University with a Bachelor Degree in Psychology.  Charles was previously employed by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.  He was a Businessman and Owned Delatte’s Automotive and Machine Shop of Metairie La.  Charles was an accomplished Photographer, Certified Diver, taught and loved Zydeco dancing, played guitar, owned and raced his own dragster and had racehorses.  He believed in being a good man, was very much loved by his wife and family, loved his church and friends and will be greatly missed.

Charles is survived by his Wife and Best Friend of 14 Years Coleen I Delatte of Franklinton, La., Daughter, Jennifer M. Delatte, Sons, Thomas Streb, Michael Streb and wife Tiffani, 11 Grandchildren, Evan, Juliana, Gabriella, Marcel, Miri, Kini, Lelia, Rylee, Kaia, Phoenix and Kenny.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or your Parish Church.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 10:00 AM with a Memorial Mass at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1220 14th Avenue, Franklinton, La., 70438.  Father Pedro Prada will officiate.

The family will also receive friends on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 11:00 AM with a Memorial Mass at 12:00 PM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 6666 Spanish Fort Blvd., New Orleans, La., 70124.

Arrangements are entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home of Covington, La.
