Betty Joyce Guidry Devenport, 83, of Covington LA., passed away on the afternoon of July 1, 2025, surrounded by her family. Betty was born in Scott, LA, the only daughter to Olanda and Gladys Guidry and sister to Harold and Dalton Guidry. She was a devout Catholic and a professed member of Our Lady Queen of the family Carmelite Community. Betty was known to never meet a stranger and have a loving and calming presence for anyone she came in contact with. She dedicated her life to children. Not only her own, but she assisted in raising hundreds of children over the years at her Daycare center. Betty was an incredible cook and was more than willing to cook for anyone who was hungry. Even if they weren’t, she would send it home with them for later. An amateur seamstress who has made countless baby blankets for expecting mothers. She was a bright light in so many people’s lives. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, and everyone who was lucky enough to know her.
She is preceded in death by her Husband, Robert John Devenport, Parents, Brothers, and three Children, Betty, Gwen and Richard Mouton.
She is survived by her Son, Robert P. Mouton, and three Daughters: Dianne Mouton, Karole (Rosta) Burslem and Chelsea Devenport. As well as her five Grandchildren: Kiefer Siadous, Sophie Branch, Marley Burslem, Nevaeh Devenport and Clairy Devenport.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at 98 Sanctuary Blvd., Mandeville, LA., from 1 PM to 4 PM.
Arrangements are entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home of Covington, LA.
