Barney Patrick Phillips, Sr.

Barney Patrick Phillips Sr., 79, of Abita Springs, La., passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025, with his wife by his side.  He was a native of London, England, and a resident of Abita Springs, La.  Barney was a United States Navy Veteran and served in the Vietnam War.  He retired as a Sheet Rock/Painter, Finisher, Wall Paper after over 50 years of service.  Barney was a member of Dove Park Church of God in Covington, La.  He enjoyed horse racing, football, hunting and fishing, visiting Tennessee and spending time with friends and family not to mention spoiling his grandchildren.

Barney was preceded in death by his Daughters, Christina Phillips, Tanya Phillips, Parents, William & Catherine Phillips, Granddaughter, Jade Phillips, Grandson, Patrick Phillips, Brother, Timothy Phillips and  Sister, Elizabeth Phillips.

He is survived by his wife of 43 Years, Darlene Wood Phillips of Abita Springs, La., Son, Barney P. Phillips Jr. of New Orleans, La., Daughters, Wendy Plaisance of Thibodeaux, La., Sherry Weaver and husband Louis of Hammond, La., Shannon Phillips of Destrehan, La. and husband Michael, Chantel Phillips of Covington, Brothers, Bill Phillips of Madisonville, La., Frank Phillips of Violet, La., Sister, Pam Galland of Metairie, La., numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM with a Memorial Service at 10:30 AM at Dove Park Church of God, 925 Grey Lane, Covington, La. 70433.  Pastor Warren Heck will officiate.
