She later moved to Viareggio, where she met and married Raúl Bertuccelli, a renowned carnival float artist known for his work in New Orleans. Augusta was a devoted mother to Pier Giorgio Bertuccelli and Jonathan Bertuccelli. She is survived by her sons, as well as her grandchildren: Blake Bertuccelli Booth, married to Grace Bertuccelli Booth, and their daughter, Willa Simone Bertuccelli Booth, and her younger grandson, Ezra Gray Amerigo Bertuccelli.
