Anthony “Tony” Canova Sr. passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the age of 73. He was born in New Orleans to the late Virginia and Felix Canova before moving to Franklinton, LA.
Tony was married to the love of his life, Diana Canova, on July 10,1970, in Wiggins, Ms. They loved to spend time together and to go on cruises. Their favorite place to go was the Bahamas. He loved spending the holiday with his family, but most of all the good food. He was the biggest Saints and Tulane fan. Tony and Diana loved to watch football on Sunday, but most of all, he loved spending time with his great grandchildren. They meant the word to him.
He was the devoted husband of Diana M. Canova, loving father of Anthony Canova Jr., Tonya Canova-Richard and Bert Desadier, Tara and Jimmy Jenkins Jr., grandfather of Melissa and Josh Settoon, Steven and Brittney Richard, Johnathan and Heidi Canova, Theresa Lynn and Kyle Riggins, Alexis Richard and Dylan Craigie, Jared Jenkins and Emma Williams, Jason Jenkins and Jordan Jenkins, great grandfather of Braydn Canova, Kylie Canova, Emarie Riggins, Liam Settoon, Caden Richard, Legend Riggins, Olivia Richard, Elena Settoon and Lyla Riggins and one sister Phyliss McCaslin.
Anthony leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his son-in-law Ray Richard and grandson Justin Jenkins.
Tony wishes were to have a private memorial service at a later date.
