Angel (Knight) Gautreaux

Angel Knight Gautreaux, 73, of Zachary, La., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, with her husband by her side. She was a native of New Orleans, La., a former resident of Covington, La. and a current resident of Zachary, La. Angel graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a BS in Education and earned many certifications including library science and elementary education. She taught throughout East Baton Rouge Parish including Family Christian Academy and the Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired. Angel was a member of Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge, La. and attended Jefferson Baptist Church, Baton Rouge, La. She retired from teaching after over 28 years of mentoring and educating students. Angel enjoyed gardening and most of all spoiling her seven grandchildren. She was also known for her generous spirit and hospitality to others and a strong faith in Jesus Christ Lord and Savior.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, William & Marie Cantrell Knight, Sisters, Coralie Knight-Herman and Laurie Knight Hall.

Angel is survived by her Husband of 53 Years, Lynn Joseph Gautreaux of Zachary, La., Sons, Micah Gautreaux & wife Pam of Flower Mound, Texas, Andrew Gautreaux & wife Heather of Zachary, La., Brother, John E. Knight II & wife Holly of Covington, La., Grandchildren, C.J., Preston, Anna, Emma, Charlotte, Alice and Ava.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Dove Park Church of God, 925 Grey Lane, Covington, La. 70433 with a Memorial Service at 1:00
PM. Pastor Ken Newton will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Garden of Pines Cemetery in Covington, La.
