Thera Joan Ayo, loved by all, passed away on May 23rd 2021 in New Orleans, Louisiana at the age of 74. She was born in Picayune, Mississippi and lived in Covington, Louisiana.
Friends called her Joan and friends she had many. Joan was fearless, adventurous, loving, and generous. She loved gardening, kayaking, and spoiling her great grandchildren. She was the devoted and loving wife of Nathan Paul Ayo Sr. for 57 wonderful years. She was the daughter of the late Rueday and Callie Parker. She was the devoted mother of Wanda Ayo Hollis and mother-in-law to Joseph Hollis; Terri Rene Rawson and mother-in-law to Paul Jones; Nathan Paul Ayo and mother-in-law to Marsha Martinez Ayo.
Joan is preceeded in death by her three brothers Tommy Parker, Rudy Bearl Parker, and Steve Parker.
Joan was the devoted and adored grandmother to Wendy Newman, Lisa Dominick, Rebecca Taylor, Brittany Taylor, Brian Ayo, Julia Hollis, Jenna Hollis, Danielle Martinez, Jacob Martinez, Shannan Hohensee, Jeremy Hollis, Brandon Hollis and fifteen beloved great grandchildren.
Services are private.
