Sidney Bedford Obituary

Sidney “Jake” Bedford, Jr. of Covington, LA departed this life on Friday, January 1, 2021 at the Hospice House in Slidell, LA. He was born in 1951 in Scott, Mississippi to the late Sidney Bedford Sr. and Cleo Sheppard Bedford. He loved to watch the news and all types of sports especially football. The Saints were his favorite team. He was a loving person and very outspoken. He would give you the shirt off his back, but before he did, you would have to hear him fuss, but it was all out of love. Sidney will be sadly missed by his brother Excell Bedford, of Covington, LA, two daughters Octavis Bedford, and Sheba Williams, of Covington, LA. A host of nieces, nephews, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his only son Ricardo Jordan, a special friend Darlene Brumfield, 6 sisters: Recelle Bedford, Gloy Dell Bedford, Helen Williams, Eliafaye Freeman, Patricia Love, Mable Carson, 4 brothers: Llyod “Son” Bedford, William “Josh” Bedford, James Bedford, and Eddie “Koon” Bedford.
