Sabine Strobl Obituary

The world lost a "force" who exemplified strength, love, and care for all living beings. Sabine H. Strobl, Mom and Grossmama, passed away peacefully at 68 years young in her home with her elder son by her side on Friday, May 14th, 2021. She was 68 years young. Sabine (Sabrina) emigrated from Germany to America alone as a teenager in 1972 - an example of her fiercely independent and strong (feisty!) spirit. She settled in the 9th Ward Bywater area of New Orleans, and eventually moved to Covington in 2004, where she transformed a home and garden into "my little paradise." Sabine sacrificed and gave her all in raising her children over the years - making sure education came first (and often doing our chores herself so schoolwork could be given priority). Sabine always took pride in her children's successes, the health and longevity of her animals (including cats, dogs, birds, turtles/tortoises, iguana, rodents, fish, etc.), and the beauty of her plants. The sweet little "turtle lady" had an amazing green thumb and ability to nurture animals. She lived simply and worked as an independent housekeeper, yet never stopped finding ways to donate, take care of all living beings, and regularly gave little gifts to many to brighten their days. Sabine was often seen with her pink shoes and colorful leggings (who loved to dance around the house) - she was a quirky (often unfiltered words) and beautiful person who had a heart of gold. She was a "strong, loving person with a big heart" who did not care about most material things (although guilty pleasures included sushi, TV, ice cream, sweets). Sabine demonstrated valuable lessons that would make the world a true paradise: treat everyone the same regardless of standing, help and love all living beings, love children with all of your heart, always show appreciation, be happy and positive, say what is on your mind, work hard and finish the job, be organized, and be proud of dancing to the beat of your own drum. Sabine is survived by many, including: her brother Gerhard Strobl; her elder son Dr. Emanuel Robinson and his wife Judy Tang, and their son (and Sabine's grandson) Eason; her younger son Christopher Lancini; her close circle of true friends; her family of beautiful felines and awesome reptiles; and, last but certainly not least, her garden paradise. Sabine was a "special lady with a caring heart and a strong spirit" who will be missed by nature and society, but who lives on forever in spirit and in our hearts and memories. There will be a small Celebration of Her Life and thank you to close friends. Please remember to help all living beings in need (via gifts and time). Arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Covington, LA. Condolences and tributes can be posted at www.serenitycovington.com
