Ruth Stefanakis Obituary

Ruth Elaine Gillikin Stefanakis passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at Slidell Memorial Hospital, at the age of 64. She was born to, and preceded in death by her parents Norman D. Gillikin and Anna “Anita” Mills in Tampa, FL, and lived in Slidell for most of her life. Ruth loved studying her bible and going to church. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Slidell. She loved watching Saints football and Drew Brees as well as all things New Orleans, including Mardi Gras. She loved her dogs and her grand puppies. She enjoyed playing Bingo and going to the casino. She was funny and a bit sarcastic. Loving and devoted mother of Tania Stefanakis and Joshua Gillikin. Sister of Anita (Buddy) Peter, Jeannie (Butch) Deyo, Jack (Pat) Gillikin, David Gillikin, Darlene Taylor, Sherry (Bill) Thibodeaux and the late Jerry Taylor. Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly. A Memorial Service will be held on a later date.
