Robert John "Rob" Laurent

Robert John "Rob" Laurent, Jr. passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at the age of 57. He was born in New Orleans and was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish. A member of the Knights of Columbus, Rob served as Chancellor before being appointed as the Financial Secretary of Council #8442. A parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Violet, Rob faithfully served the Church as an usher at Mass and tirelessly dedicated his time at the annual seafood dinners and Oyster Festival. For his efforts, Rob and his family were given the Knights of Columbus Family of the Year award. Rob was the loving husband of Rhonda Perron Laurent for 25 years and the father of Robert John Laurent III, Richard Joseph Laurent, Ryan James Laurent, Roman Jacob Laurent, and Rachel Jeanne Laurent. Son of Robert J. Laurent, Sr. and the late Stella Joseph Laurent. Rob is survived by his sister Diana Laurent Rinaldi (Michael), father-in-law and mother-in-law Dalbert and Linda Perron, sister-in-law Dawn Perron Canfield, brother-in-laws Jeffrey Perron (Shannon), Kirk Perron, and Lance Perron, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to help deter the cost of funeral arrangements would be greatly appreciated. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 17, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2621 Colonial Blvd., Violet, LA 70092.
